What can I do now?
When planning on fertility treatments, one of the most important factors which predict success is the age of the wife and unfortunately we cannot change this age, but no waste of time is needed. There are other factors which affect success, and you can do something about it and increase your chances of getting pregnant.
Choose the center where you are going to be treated
* No doubt that success rates and hence your chance of getting pregnant is directly affected by the center of treatment. * Do not only listen to what friends and relatives have told you go and check for yourself. When you are there:
The successful center would speak for itself!
* You will, for example, find out when you sit down with others at the center, you will notice the optimistic or the pessimistic feelings between who are present!
Are all your questions answered, did you find who answer them and care for what do you say?
*
Will you have all what you need in the same place, or only part of the services you
need?
*
- Is the high success rate you have been given is reflected on the financial plans?
*
Many of the centers all over the world, who achieve success rates above 50%, offer financial plans with packages like:
if your not pregnant first time, the center would pay the fees of the second trial. Or, pay that amount and if you are not pregnant have 75% money back. These financial plans depend on the steady achievement of success rates that exceeds 50%.
Prepare your self
* There are factors that would affect your success rate, and correcting them would greatly help: These factors include having a body mass index <30, stopping smoking, developing the mind body connection, taking optimal nutritional supplements, …
Weight
Assessment of weight is measured by what is called “Body mass index” which is the weight in kilograms divided by (length in meters x length in meters again) and this number (index) affects in vitro fertilization pregnancy rates – A woman's weight can affect her fertility. We know that at both extremes, very thin and obese, that there can be disruption of the normal process of regular, consistent ovulation, and anovulation can often result. Body mass index, or BMI, is an index that gives us an indication of whether a person is normal weight, overweight or obese. A high BMI indicates obesity. You will be considered overweight (BMI > 25) or obese (BMI > 30). If you are overweight or obese, it is important to get appropriate medical help to reduce your weight to improve your fertility outcome and avoid the long-term complications associated with excess body fat. You have to consult your fertility specialist as the weight problem might be the result of the cause that originally has caused the delay in pregnancy. This graph shows the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and ongoing (beyond 12 weeks) IVF pregnancy rates for patients doing IVF themselves at a reputable center in Chicago USA:
Stop Smoking
* Women smokers, like men smokers, are at increased risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and pulmonary disease, but women smokers also experience unique risks related to menstrual and reproductive function. Women who smoke have an increased risk for conception delay and for primary and secondary infertility. Also women who smoke may have a modest increase in risk for ectopic pregnancy and spontaneous abortion. Additionally, women who are exposed to passive smoking experience just as much of a negative influence as active smokers.
Fertility Blend Supplements
It is believed that nutritional and lifestyle changes can increase the chances of conception. Reproductive organs are highly susceptible to free radicals or oxidative damage from environmental toxicants and natural aging. A balanced, nutritional diet and nutritional supplements with high levels of antioxidants can help reverse some of this damage.
Mind & Body
